Formal Qualifications & Memberships

Awarded Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours from Manchester University in United Kingdom in 1986 and then went on to obtain the following:

  • Member Royal College of Physicians (UK) in1989 (MRCP)
  • MD, Keele University in 1996
    (for research into bloodflow in the preterm brain)
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support Instructor, 1994
    (then was an active Instructor from 1994 to 2006)
  • Newborn Life Support Instructor and Course Director, 1997
    (then was an active instructor from 1997 to 2006
  • Local (Cayman) Paediatric Advanced Life Support,  July 2016
  • Local (Cayman) Neoanatal Resuscitation Programme, Oct 2016

I am also a Fellow and Founding Member of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the UK.

Obviously an important component of qualification is gaining clinical training for the right places. My training included a wide variety of some of the country’s most famous tertiary paediatric and neonatal institutions.

In the UK, I was granted 9 Award Points for services to my organisation and healthcare. This is the maximum than can be obtained under this specific scheme. Naturally, I am very proud of them.
